In June 2013, the rapper started his music journey after getting out of juvenile prison, releasing his first single “News / Herd.

The assailants shot him multiple times. They fled with a bag that reportedly held around $50,000 in cash.

Despite efforts by paramedics and treatment at Broward Health North Hospital, XXXTentacion was declared dead by the Sheriff’s Office at 5:30 p.m.

In connection to his murder, 22-year-old Dedrick Devonshay Williams and three others, Michael Boatwright, Robert Allen, and Trayvon Newsome, were apprehended by the police.

All of them faced charges of first-degree murder. However, the attack was determined to be unpremeditated, leading to them avoiding the death penalty.

A memorial service was held on June 27, 2018, at the BB&T Center in Florida.
