Windham Lawrence Rotunda, born in 1987, was a well-known American professional wrestler. He gained fame in WWE from 2010 to 2021 and later from 2022 until his unfortunate passing in 2023, wrestling under the name Bray Wyatt.
Coming from a family of wrestlers, including his grandfather Blackjack Mulligan, his father Mike Rotunda, and uncles Barry and Kendall Windham, Rotunda had wrestling in his blood.
His younger brother, Taylor Rotunda, known as Bo Dallas, also pursued a wrestling career. Together, they won the FCW Florida Tag Team Championship twice in WWE’s developmental territory, Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW), between 2008 and 2012.
Initially performing as Husky Harris, he joined The Nexus on WWE’s main roster from 2010 to 2011.
Rotunda then embraced the persona of Bray Wyatt when he returned to WWE’s developmental scene, NXT.
As the eerie leader of The Wyatt Family, a swamp-dwelling cult, he transitioned back to the main roster with fellow Wyatt Family members Luke Harper and Erick Rowan in 2013.
His journey led him to become a three-time world champion, holding the WWE Championship once and the Universal Championship twice. He also secured the SmackDown Tag Team Championship and the Raw Tag Team Championship during his career.
After a break in 2018–2019, Wyatt came back with a fresh concept. He portrayed a character with multiple personalities: the kind-hearted, Mr. Rogers-like Bray Wyatt and the sinister monster clown known as The Fiend.
Released from WWE in 2021, he made a surprising return in 2022, blending his old personas with new ones after claiming to be his “real-life” self. Sadly, his comeback was cut short when he contracted COVID-19 in early 2023, followed by an unexpected heart attack in August of the same year. Despite his brief return, he managed to participate in the 2023 Royal Rumble match.
